Sanctions are the only way left?
OK - I am reasonably sure we're still the world's superpower - better ask the Chinese if it is OK to say that...
You know, for 5 years, all we heard about from the media was about the unjust Iraq War. The lack of an "end game" in Iraq. The absence of WMD's.
Now, I can't say I ever agreed with going to war in Iraq. However, the silence on Afghanistan is deafening. Where is the outcry and outrage for that matter? What exactly is the end game in Afghanistan? To hear this administration, it is "stability." This sounds as ambiguous as anything Bush ever talked about in Iraq. And yet, we're ramping up there? When exactly do we get out? And what triggers getting out? No details. Then why are we there? People die in war - on both sides.
The longer this goes on I believe that the outcry against Iraq was that it was Bush's war. Afghanistan is Obama's, therefore the media concludes this is OK. You hear no speeches in Congress, no Murtha - telling us we've lost, no Pelosi rants about an unjust war, no righteous Reid speeches about lying and about the tremendous expense of fighting this war.
So what is the difference - other than the President...

News has just broken that Congressman Murtha has died.
God Bless Him - regardless of politics.
