Ooooh. Remember the outrage of a couple of years back? The town meetings he attended in Morristown and all over Monmouth and Ocean counties where angry commuters and seniors backed him down from the toll proposal? I'd say that one, increased business tax on small business and Daggetts' gas tax idea will finish whatever life remains in the Peoples Republic of Trenton...
Well, the Governor says, it "was an idea that worked." So, after he is re-elected by the morons (er voters) of NJ next week, it will be Turnpike tolls all over again. And, well those angry NJ voters will yell at him again - after they vote to re-elect him next week of course - because Christie is fat and wants to cut mammograms... (Yes, that is the campaign theme - and fools buy in).
Where will the cash go? To pay down the deficit? Well, no. To fund the un-funded public pensions? Well, no.
What then? To pay for more construction projects!
Is there a road right now in the state that is NOT under construction? You'd never know it was election day...
Funny how the tried and true methods perfected by Mayor Hague so long ago still work every time here...
And the media will be shocked, shocked... when Corzine proposes massive tax, toll and fee increases - all while increasing spending... er, investing...The wheel goes round and round. Until you have no money left and your tax base has left the state.
